Vermillion and Mars

100 Day Project Day 17

I have a confession to make. I bought the sketchbook. I’m beyond redemption.

Oh well, fit a shame, never mind.

It won’t arrive for a couple of days, but I did get a new tube of vermillion acrylic as my old one died a death that no swirl aboot with medium could fix.

For today’s practise I smeared some of the luscious red joy over one of my wee 6×8 pads, mixed with airbrush medium, to get some streaks and texture going. Then I went again with the figure pose I was sketching the other day, this time sketching with a small brush, and a mix of vermillion and mars black.

It was just a quick observational exercise, as time is short today, but I am enjoying the challenge of this pose, with the legs still playing tricks on me. The vermillion and black is a really nice mix that I’m enjoying.
