100 Day Project Day 16
Today is one of those days where the creativity didn’t happen. Some days are like that, and it’s OK. I am committed to this 100 Day Project thing, tho, so I didn’t want to miss a day, so I went to my trusty 6×8 watercolour blocks and grabbed a blank one. I know I can always pull something out of these pages.
I grabbed a red peel off chinagraph pencil, something I rarely use, and used my non-dominant hand to create a face. Next, a trusty favourite – my Stabilo All in black with my waterbottle. I made a discovery about the way this combination works togather that I really like. The All pencil only bleeds within the confines of the chinagraph line. Obvious if you think about it, the waxiness of the red pencil acts as a resist.
So I had the basis for a face, and then I just played with some blue acrylics, and I am not so excited by blues, or even the way this turned out. There are things I like, and when I pop this into my 100 mini paintings folder, it will tell that story.
I’m not sure how many of those mini paintings I have done, and I don’t really think I will stop at 100, becuase this practise is something that I enjoy in a similar way to working in sketchbooks.

Looking at this now that I’ve uploaded the pic, I’ll probably push back that blue with gesso. Blue is just not my thing, not as the main colour, anyway.
Ooft.
I don’t think authenticity comes with only posting the perfect, polished, finished stuff.
Til the morn,
Suzanne.
