I was going to choose the prompt “Round/Square”, but looking at the list, I quite like “A Small World”.
I have spent the day rooting around in my creative room sorting through beads and jewellery things. It surprised me to realise that we have been in this house for three years and most of the beads are still packed in little zip-lock bags to prevent spillage during the move. How easy it is to lose touch with our creative selves.
I am sorting through the boxes and trays, and trying a little Marie Kondo magic. I have been weeding out bits and pieces that I can happily let go of, and listing them on that well-known auction site. I confess that what will likely happen is I will simply buy more craft materials, so it isn’t really Kondo magic at all.
Apologies if the photo is not in focus, I am running out of time, and daylight, for the day, so I used my iPad camera.
These are two of my creations from around a year before we moved. I became fascinated with making Rorschach patterns using polymer clay, and then making beads and pendants. I was obsessed with seeing how much I could control the effect by trying different ways of twisting the colours together. There is only so far I can control it, every time I cut the clay there was a surprise inside, and the creatures and patterns throw up something new each time I look at them.
